MANGO FASHION AWARDS: DON’T FORGET THEIR NAMES
Isak Andic's brand is showcasing in Passeig de Gràcia the collections by the 10 finalists of the MANGO Fashion Awards.
Do the names of Harvey Bouterse or Mads Dinesen ring any bells? Don’t forget them, because you might find them set in font size 90 on the covers of Vogue USA or ELLE and be spoken by Anna Wintour and the whole host of international fashion gurus alongside words of astonishment and admiration.
Today Harvey and Mads are “just” 2 out of the 10 finalists for the MANGO Fashion Awards. These international awards are given every 18 months and aim to reward emerging talent, especially young designers that have been a maximum of two seasons on the market. In only 4 editions, the event has become a new creative catapult owing to the substantial prize funds: 300,000 € for the winner. The prestigious jury is chaired this year by Carolina Herrera and includes, among others, Kate Moss, Derek Blasberg —editor of Harper’s Bazaar and V Magazine—, and Laura Ponte.
Under the slogan CREATE YOUR REVOLUTION, this year the participants are called to become true revolutionaries of fashion, colours, shapes and trends. The results can be seen until 1 June at Passeig de Gràcia, which once again transforms itself into a fashion catwalk.
The collections of Harvey Bouterse and Mads Dinesen will be on show alongside those of France’s Christine Phung or Japanese Takayuki Tanaka and Motoyuki Matsamuro. It’s a unique opportunity to discover the talent of future ‘it’ designers before Anna Wintour mentions them in her column and catapults them to glory.
