Yes, thank you three times. But I’m thankful for more than just three things, because it’s nice to be grateful.

Tyson is a Singh without his turban. He hides his religion: he has to earn a living. Wearing the turban closed many doors. He’s been here for ten years and he has spent the last three working in a well-kown restaurant in Passeig de Gràcia. There, his presence takes us away to distant place in a distant time. In Punjab, in India, he was a farmer. He came here to see the world, to experiment and to lead a better life. He spends most of the time calmly watching the road in front of his restaurant. “I love the girls and celebrities that go by here”.
We come across Ajda in the stretch between Burberry and Karen Miller. She comes from Ljubljana, in the Balkan region. She does justice to the beauty that is usually associated with slavic women. It is also what puts food on her table. She’s an actress and model at a well-know agency. She’s also a keen street-lover, she tends to spend many an afternoon and many a night on the Hotel Majestic’s terrace or at the Casa Fuster.
Passeig de Gràcia’s underground is one of the liveliest in the city. Many of its inhabitants are not invisible outsiders. Mercedes is one of the cleaners at the Renfe station that we usually take no notice of as we walk by. She shyly surfaces just for a few minutes into the sunlight. She lacks the time and opportunities to exchange a few words.

Welcome back January. That’s because December is neither November nor January, it’s just December. I noticed this years ago and it’s one of the main bothers of life in Passeig de Gràcia. If you can, in December, get out of here. Why?
