Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this fantastic concert that is held on April 29 to May 1 at L’Auditori.

The premiere of the Music for the Royal Fireworks was a disaster: some rockets goes to the Orchestra, others burned the big structure built for the occasion and also burned a bas-relief of wood of King José II of England, the person who had commissioned the work. Despite the setbacks, the music was spectacular and, more than 260 years later, still surprised by its strength and originality. The program finish with the popular Suite No. 3 by Bach, a work of the most beloved classic Vienna: Mozart (a young man who wanted to be heard in the music capital of the world) and a work of the Italian Geminiani inspired by “La Follia” of Corelli.

Not always you can hear the OCB playing a repertoire so old and there’s nothing better to do if the director is one of the most renowned international experts: a viola da gamba musician and director Jordi Savall.
