Feel the magic of Carnival in Casa Batlló
Balconies that look like masks, pieces of mosaic emulating confetti and a harlequin’s cap crowning the façade.
The artistic composition of Casa Batlló, as well as its vibrant polychrome, reveals an unmistakable allegory of the Carnival.
Many people see elegant Venetian masks in the building balconies, pieces of mosaic make them think of confetti and, what’s crowning the façade might well be the cap of a friendly harlequin.
From the 1rst until the 3rd of March, two cheerful harlequins will be surrounding Passeig de Gràcia area. They will be interacting with the passers-by while humming some catchy chorus that aims to open path towards a sublime carnival symphony that will take place in the mysterious work of the great architect.
To celebrate this exceptional gaudinian carnival, these two harlequins will be giving away among the public a total of 3.000 masks inspired in Casa Batlló’s façade colors. On its reverse, an exclusive discount of 6,5€ for the Cultural Visit.
It is precisely two cheerful Harlequins that will be surrounding Passeig de Gràcia area from the 1rst until the 3rd of March. Under their arm, a total of 5.000 masks to give away among the public with a discount of 6,5€ in their Cultural Visit with Augmented Reality. Especially conceived for the most curious, in the reverse of each mask they will find a QR Code that will forward them to a video in Casa Batlló’s web.
For those who dare to give free rein to their creativity, there’s an even higher discount, 11,5€. All you have to do is to customize one of the downloadable masks on the website www.casabatllo.cat.
All the received masks will be digitalized and published on the web on the 5th of March. At the same time, a popular vote will be opened to choose the most original one, which will obtain a free DVD with the spectacular mapping projection “The Awakening of Casa Batlló”.
