‘César y Cleopatra’ at Teatre Romea
A love and power story directed by Magüi Mira and written by Emilio Hernández.
Teatre Romea hosts from April 13 until May 1 the history of the two symbols of love and power: César y Cleopatra, directed by Magüi Mira and written by Emilio Hernández.
When they participated in the Festival of Mérida 2015, the text by Emilio Hernández approaches these two historical figures to the public through interpretations of Ángela Molina and Emilio Gutiérrez with Lucía Jiménez and Marcial Álvarez, representing the youth of both characters.
The show is involved in an issue that seems to worry everyone, the power. But why they need power? To change things or survive? These are some of the questions that the action aims to respond. The Roman Emperor and Cleopatra are two characters that are currently found to speak ironically, remember and discuss what they experienced in their youth and what has happened in the world after his death.
A beautiful and wild, funny and dramatic suggestion that you can’t miss! For more information and tickets, check their official website here.
