Urban Outfitters arrives to Barcelona
Urban Outfitters is pleased to announce the opening of it’s first store in Spain, in the city of Barcelona, located in the "El Triangle" shopping centre.
The arrival of Urban Outfitters to our country couldn’t wait any more. Finally, today we can happyly anounce that the internationally best known multibrand store will open it’s first store in Barcelona.
Founded in Philadelphia in 1970, Urban Outfitters has long established itself as a leading alternative lifestyle retailer. It’s collection of apparel and homewares covers a creative mix of contemporary fashion, accessories, gifts, books and music.
The new store will offer great fashion brands for him and her such as: Won Hundred, Libertine Libertine, Unif and Pippa Lynn, or exclusive garments of Stussy, Baron Von Fancy, Rodnik and Fila. There will be also some vintage clothes where we will find the vintage and exclusive Levi’s.
The Urban Outfitters store design team will bring the 1870 square metre building to life exposing the structure with our recognised industrial treatment. On the ground floor the expansive concrete shell is highlighted by a honeycomb lighting concept.
A Gaudi inspired wood patterned floor is hand laid by the in-store display team. Displays and fixtures are
conceived in-house and created specifically for each location to ensure a theme sympathetic to the architecture of the building. The Barcelona store also presents a glass-fronted workshop where the daily work of the creative team is freely on view.
Two permanent large scale artworks commissioned with internationally renowned artist – Agostino Iacurci, will complement the raw design and add softness to the store.
Famed for his bright multi-layered characters Agostino Iacurci will create a 13-metre-high artwork as the
focal piece of the new store. He has also hand-painted the construction hoarding during building works. In typical Urban Outfitters style, this hoarding will be upcycled and moved inside to create the fitting rooms in the newly completed store.
