Pantone, a universe of colors

It is possible that Lawrence Herbert invented the PANTONE after arguing with his wife by the color of the walls. That she preferred a kelly green and he a yellow mimosa him or gentian blue and have it good, it’s a logical assumption, right?

A tool used daily by millions of designers, interior designers, printers, cosmetic makers, painters … And anyone who does not want to lose more than five minutes discussing whether “it” is maroon or burgundy.

The invention of the first pantonario was the big bang of a universe of colors that is expanding every day more and more. Today there are thousands of color references and ranges as print materials and surfaces (paint, plastic, fabric, colors, web, etc.) and hundreds of design objects and accessories are produced under license PANTONE all over the world.

This is what is known as the PANTONE UNIVERSE, a galaxy make up of cups, boxes, candles, chairs, books, card and even a hotel in Brussels (yes, you read correctly, there is a hotel PANTONE), which fill color and good design our lives, sometimes as gray and boring.
