Santa Eulalia held on Thursday the 22nd a Cocktail Party in honour of Marie Claire magazine to thank them for their support during the renovation of their flagship store in Passeig de Gràcia.
Passion for fashion has become once again the connection point between Santa Eulalia, Barcelona’s most exclusive store, and Marie Claire magazine, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On this very special occasion, notable journalists such as Victor Amela, a large number of bloggers and fashion art lovers were there to keep them company.
After two years of remodeling the new 2.000 square metre store designed by New York architect William Sofield, which includes a pop-up space, a café and a spectacular terrace, Luis Sans thanked Marie Claire magazine for believing in the project from the very beginning. The magazine was one of the biggest supporters of the modernization of the store and the development of the store concept.
During the presentation ceremony, Joana Bonet (Editor-in-chief of Marie Claire) wanted to highlight the paradox of Passeig de Gràcia, No. 93. The owner of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, acquired the entire block where the store now stands. Their business strategy of the is based on “copying” the works of art of great designers, most of which can be found in Santa Eulalia. A very praise-worthy business, as Joana pointed out, since it has helped democratise the sector. In the end they help each other out because without the great artists who converge at Santa Eulalia, Inditex wouldn’t exist.
Finally, Joana Bonet’s team prepared and selected some “Marie Claire Looks” for the event with their favourite clothes for Spring / Summer 2012.
