The Loewe Gallery presents Fanzine137, 19.137, My Magazine
Luis Venegas prepares an emotional review of the covers of the disappeared magazines that most influenced him as a publisher and collector.
In a youthful and cheeky environment, the Loewe Gallery celebrated the last 13th November the inaugural cocktail of the photographic exhibition “Fanzine137, 19137, My Magazine. Luis Venegas selected pages“.
Following the recent exhibitions such as Scott Schuman of Ron Galella, Loewe presents now some of the covers that make up Luis Venegas’ personal collection of magazines. The international editor, known also because of the Gold Loewe video, currently has three publications: Fanzine137, EY! Magateen and Candy, magazines that have become a true collector’s items. Each one involves months of preparation and features collaborations with the top photographers, writers and international artists.
With this exhibition, Venegas wanted to pay tribute to the printed publications of his personal and intimate collection, that he started when he was only 13 years old. His obsession with magazines grew every year, and currently he has a personal collection of over 70.000 copies, among witch we can find all kinds of publications. From the best known publications to the most “bizarre”, all of them influenced him as a reader and consumer of fashion.
The set of 31 photographs will be on display from the 7th of November to 10th of January at Paseo de Gracia, 91.
