The collective exhibition Hipermerc'Art is opening its doors in La Sala Vinçon to offer original works of contemporary art to the general public.
The essence of Hipermerc’Art is in its name. Hipermercado [Supermarket] + Arte [Art]. Yes, we know that it may sound like a strange combination. Two seemingly opposite words that could never appear together in the same sentence… Or could they? That is what Hipermerc’Art wants: to break taboos and leave behind old ideas and beliefs.
The main objective of Hipermerc’Art is to bring the world art to the general public. To offer a different experience, an exhibition that breaks old trends and pushes forward a new way to view and buy art. The idea is to adjust the prices to encourage people to purchase pieces. This way, anyone can start a career as a small collector. All of the pieces are originals and have price tags starting at 59 €. A price that anyone can afford.
Hipermerc’Art reminds us that a “small” work of art today may be a “great” work of art tomorrow. In this sense, we are encouraged to visit the exhibition, see the pieces, enjoy them and if we see something we like why not just buy it? This year nearly three thousand original small-format pieces will be on show including paintings, sculptures and photographs by some fifty artists.
