La Pedrera, Casa Milà

In Culture & entertainment / Monument @en

La Pedrera. The culmination of the work of Gaudí (1906-1912).

The Casa Milà, popularly known as “La Pedrera” for its rough outer appearance, is the last civil work of the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí and one of the most innovative.

The building, designed as a family residence, is considered one of the highlights of the twentieth century because of the spectacular facade and the originality of the Roof-terrace and is one of the most emblematic buildings of Barcelona.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984 for its outstanding universal value, its visit allows to understand and appreciate the architecture and move to the time of Antoni Gaudí.
