Gin&Jazz at the Banker’s Bar at Mandarin Oriental Hotel

The hotel, one of the most luxurious in Passeig de Gràcia, is hosting different events from the 43rd Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival in Barcelona.
These days the Barcelona’s soundtrack is made up of wind, string and percussion notes. From the Harlem Jazz Club to the Palau de la Música, from the Coliseum Theatre to the Gran Hotel Havana, the best artists of the local and international jazz scene are filling with music all the city’s stages and nooks and crannies. Including the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which this year is hosting several events in the International Jazz Festival in Barcelona.
Every Wednesday in November, from 22:30 to 00:30, the Gin&Jazz Sessions are organised in the Banker’s Bar. Two magical hours to discover and savour the finest Gin Tonics while listening the best live jazz.The last Wednesday of the month, visitors can enjoy the soundtrack of the film The Sting. It includes one of the most famous rags by pianist and composer Scott Joplin, who is counted among the most important figures in the development of classic ragtime.
But undoubtedly the highlight of this special program is the cocktail dinner to be held on November 17th in the Moments restaurant and will feature for the first time in Barcelona a performance by Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez.Carme Ruscalleda, head of the kitchen, and her son Raul Balam have crafted a special menu for the occasion inspired by jazz that will include, among other delights, a Drum of prawns, Trumpet mushrooms with beans, New musician desserts and a 9-metre-long piano made ??of aubergine and cheese.A symphony of flavors exclusively reserved for only 150 people.
