Tunes from the Barcelona Metro
The exhibition "In an anonymous world…", put together by TMB in collaboration with students from the UB, gives us a look into the human side of metro musicians.
Travelling the many corridors of the metro does isn’t a particularly interesting activity, much less special, but sometimes without realising it we come face to face with stories and projects about which we hardly know anything. Only the tip of the iceberg.
This is the case with the musicians and performers in the Barcelona Metro. Who are they? Why are they there? Have you ever wondered about them? They are the result of a pioneering project that started 10 years ago that sought to establish the presence of musicians in some chosen spots of our metro system.
And to commemorate the 10th year of the successful project an exhibition called “In an anonymous world…” has been put together. It delves into the socio-anthropological analysis of these musicians who display their art in the underneath the city’s streets.
The exhibition will be on until January 13th in the Espai Mercè Sala in the hall that connects lines 3 and 5 in the Diagonal metro station.
