As well as killing dragons and being the patron saint of Barcelona, Sant Jordi was also bang into reading. At least I think that’s why his festival, celebrated on the 23rd April every year is marked by the frankly awesome tradition of gifting a book to your partner in exchange for a rose.
This year we’ve teamed up with the renowned local bookshop Laie to share the love throughout April and also make it easier and cheaper for you to stock up on books. Share your favourite quote on twitter, instagram or facebook along with #tienesunacita and @laietana and take a screencap down to any Laie store before the 22nd of april to get 5% off your purchase. You could also get one of the limited edition tote bags that we’ve made to celebrate the occasion.
If you don’t get down to Laie before the 22nd but still want to get your hands on a bag, on the 23rd we’ll be giving them away to the first people to show us their screencapped quote in person at the two stands Laie will set up on the Paseo de Gracia. There’ll also be authors on hand to sign their books and more roses than in a geriatrics ward at a hospital, so it’s worth coming down.
All of the tweets will also be entered into a draw to win an entire years worth of books, chosen by you and provided by Laie. The more quotes you share, the more chance you have of winning, so there’s an excuse to be prolific.
Remember to share your quotes with #tienesunacita and @laietana. Good luck and happy Sant Jordi!
