Remakes: When Fashion Met Film
The Brandery and Marie Claire have organised an exhibition in Barcelona that uses Manuel Outumuro's photos to link fashion and film.
Don’t worry if one of these days you come across film classics such as The Birds, Bonnie & Clyde, or Basic Instinct in Passeig de Gràcia. The most glamorous avenue in Barcelona is takes to film and presents hand in hand with The Brandery and Marie Claire magazine a photo exhibition titled Remakes: When Fashion Met Film.
Strollers along Passeig de Gràcia, more specifically those walking between Gran Via and carrer Aragó, will be able to see until 20 July some classic film scenes. A total of 40 moments captured on camera by Manuel Outumuro.
In the exhibition we will come eye-to-eye with Spanish actresses and models that perfectly embody roles that were at one time reserved for great Hollywood actors. Cayetana Guillén Cuervo suddenly becomes Tippi Hedren from the unsettling The Birds. Judith Mascó steps into Sharon Stone’s shoes in the legendary film Basic Instinct. Nieves Álvarez appears as Ava Gardner taking the place of “the world’s most beautiful animal”. And many many more.
Outumuro also focuses on auteur films that have had a major influence on fashion as in the case of Persona by Ingmar Bergman or Last Year at Marienbad by Alain Resnais.
Remakes gets our senses going for The Brandery, the urban fashion trade show that will be held in Barcelona from 13 to 15 July.Fashion in 3, 2, 1…
