Presenting the New Christmas Lighting

L’Associació d’Amics del Passeig de Gràcia presents the new lighting for this holiday season.

This Christmas the most important commercial centre in Barcelona will shine with in a special way. L’Associació d’Amics del Passeig de Gràcia presented yesterday at La Pedrera this holiday’s new lighting, work by Martin Casimir, which will illuminate the whole avenue including the Jardinets of Gràcia.

The new lamp, whose modernist aesthetic design follows the lines of previous Christmases, measures 1.65 meters and for the first time incorporates different shades of light: blue in the central area of the structure and gold in the details below. The assembly will include 200 lamps with low-power LEDs and will cost 100,000€, and will be financed by the members of l’Associació and the City Council, with the special collaboration of Bulervad Rosa and SABA parkings.

As detailed by Lluís Sans, president of l’Associació d’Amics de Passeig de Gràcia, the official turning on is expected to take place on December 1st, kicking off the Christmas season which usually accounts for 30% of all sales Passeig de Gràcia.

Although the thermometer seems to says otherwise, Christmas is just around the corner.
