
‘ORSON SURT, PERSEGUIT PER UN ÓS’, AT TEATRE GAUDÍ
A Gerard Vàzquez spectacle that commemorates the centenary of the birth of Orson Welles.
Teatre Gaudí welcomes Orson surt, perseguit per un ós until May 5, a fraudulent spectacle of Gerard Vàzquez that commemorates the centenary of the birth of Orson Welles (1915-1985) that deals with one of his recurrent themes about fake, fraud, imposture and deceit as a source of artistic value. A show that proposes an unusual combination in the stage: the theatre and the radio theatre.
New York, 1938. When CBS broadcasted the adaptation La guerra de los mundos by Orson Welles, Camil, a Barcelona’s opportunistic that is a famous painters imitator, he contact Dora Wainstein, a millionaire art collector. Camil explained to Ms Wainstein that he have to sell a few paintings ordered by the Government of the Spanish Republic to deal with the Civil War.
However, the Martian invasion of the Orson Welles program doesn’t happens as Camil had planned. But the last word will be of Mrs Welles, who is involved in the story while he talks to Barcelona public doing magic tricks.
