Miró takes over the Metro
Barcelona Metro users can enjoy "Joan Miró. Apunts", an exhibition that focuses on the painter's universe and his relationship with Paris and Catalonia.
These days time is not something we want to waste, so it’s a pleasure when culture comes to us rather than us having to go to it.
This is how all of us metro-takers can enjoy up until March 23rd the new exhibition “Joan Miró. Apunts” at the Espai Mercè Sala, the exhibition hall maintained Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).
The exhibition aims to offer an overview of how Miró worked and how he understood painting, as well as the links that connected him to Paris, Catalonia or Mont-Roig. Passers-by will find be able to read some of the author’s thoughts next to several photographs and images of some of his best works.
The exhibition complements “Joan Miró. The Ladder of Escape“. A comprehensive retrospective of Miró that can be seen in the Joan Miró Foundation until March 18th.
Three of the pieces from “Joan Miró. Apunts”, The Farm, Still Life with Old Shoe and For Emili, have been set up as an installation at eight metro stations: Line 3 stops Liceu, Drassanes Paral·lel, Espanya and Tarragona, and Line 4 stops Jaume I and Urquinaona.
