Catalan Poetry by Catalan Poets
Women-Poets pays tribute to the talent of twelve Catalan poets and their contributions to society.
Since March 7th we have the great pleasure of meeting twelve unique talents from Catalan literature. For a moment they will show their faces, their words and their poems in the exhibition Women-Poets. Its aim is to showcase the talents of some women whose work and commitment to the Catalan language has given them a special place in literary history.
The exhibition pays tribute to twelve Catalan poets born between 1872 and 1952. It offers a brief biography of each poet, a few of their own words that illustrate their way of living poetry, and about 50 books with their works.
Maria Antònia Salvà, Clemetina Arderiu, Simona Gay, Rosa Leveroni, Montserrat Abelló, Felícia Fuster, Maria Beneyto, Maria Àngels Anglada, Quima Jaume, Olga Xirinacs, Marta Pessarrodona, and Maria Mercè Marçal are the main characters of this exhibiton that will be on show at the Palau Robert until April 29th.
Women-Peots has been created by University of Vic’s Gender Studies Research Group: translation, literature, history and communication (GETLIHC) and has received support from the Catalan Women’s Institute and the UNESCO Chair.
