Street food in an old bullring
Van Van, Barcelona’s premier street food market takes over El Monumental this weekend
I guess there’s a certain poetic justice in the fact that an old bullring is housing a streetfood market. But irony aside it’s actually a great idea. Van Van has been the most eagerly anticipated of Barcelona’s street food markets for a couple of years now, with not only a huge variety of world cuisine on offer but also a great quality to price ratio. The setting – Barcelona’s modernist bullring, and the last to still be hosting fights when the ban came into effect in 2011 – is a happy extra. As well as the food, there’ll be DJ’s and groups till 12am every night. And yes, also a safe bet that someone will be selling Oxtail.
Van Van – 26th – 27th June. More information here: Van-Van
