The streets are abreath with optimism these days. The 2012 edition of the San Miguel Primavera Sound has brought to Barcelona a wide offering of free music to some of the most emblematic spots in the city.
Free and full of fresh air: the Primavera al Parc, at the Ciutadella Park. There, on Saturday 2 June bands like April Fool’s Day, with its sound inherited from the Trembling Blue Stars, or the powerful guitars of the Orbits, and many more. On Sunday it is Refree‘s turn, who will present his latest work, Matilda. We will also be able to hear live promising tunes from myspace: Veronica Falls.
Yesterday was the stage opening at Arc de Triomf, where The Walkmen and real garage by the Black Lips kicked off the concrets.On Sunday Twilight Joe and Richard Hawley will be taking to that very stage to entertain the crowds.What more could you want? An exhibition maybe?
Well, the exhibition “Flatstock, the world of music posters” will be on just for you at the Palau de la Virreina until Sunday 3.The Poster Collective has gathered 70 selected works for a project for the American Poster Institute in San Francisco.
As for the concerts on at the Fòrum, they speak for themselves. If you’re one of the lucky ones who has got the three-day ticket, take a look at the programme, follow the official hashtag, or download the app for your iPhone and you’re off! The bands couldn’t be better. Stay tuned!
