Palo Alto: Barcelona new street market
Barcelona welcomes a new flea market in Poble Nou district, Palo Alto, an old factory restored by Mariscal that will join fashion, art and street food.
Named for a dick joke, this reconditioned Factory space in Barcelona’s up and coming Poble Nou district isn’t quite the answer to Sillicon Valley that its name suggests. And thank God it isn’t. The brainchild of artist and illustrator Mariscál (Chico y Rita), who still has his studio in the complex, Palo Alto is home to many of the city’s top artists, creatives and entrepeneurs, while maintaining a vibrant countercultural atmosphere.
Starting from the weekend of the 6th December the space and the surrounding streets will be the site of Palo Alto Mercat: a street market that promises 150 stalls selling everything from Street Food and vintage clothing, to original artwork and local design.
A welcome addition to Barcelona’s burgeoning Flea Market scene.
Palo Alto Market will take place in Barcelona from 6th to 7th December. More info here.
