Local Produce Market: A Love Affair for Foodies
The Mercat de Mercats food fair offers a great gathering to celebrate the Mediterranean market and our land's produce.
For the third year running, Mercat de Mercats is getting ready to give our taste buds three exquisite days that will delight the most faithful devotees of Catalan produce.
The fair will be set up at the Avinguda de la Catedral and the Avinguda Francesc Cambó on October 19 and 21. It aims to give its visitors the opportunity to taste and purchase products from markets in Barcelona and Catalunya.
The food sector will be represented by 38 stalls, 51 producers, 23 wineries and cellars, 12 bars and restaurants and 27 chefs, some of them very well known: Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, Carles Abellán, or Raül Balam. They will all delight us with a variety of tapas and food tastings at very reasonable prices.
As if the menu wasn’t appetising enough, this year in addition to the fair you can enjoy the Aula Gastronómica [Culinary Classroom], the sommeliers’ cellar, and Bus Alicia, an area with a wide range of workshops and activities to promote healthy food.
