Barcelona Soul Train Festival
Soul, funky and good vibes thanks to three established Spanish bands at the Sala Apolo.
Black music lovers are in luck. Two weeks ago we had Ben L’Oncle Soul her win Barcelona with us, energising us with his colossal band, and now someone else’s turn to delight us: a festival celebrating its first edition. Three bands—three!—will fill up Apolo’s dancefloor with good vibrations, groovy feeling and plenty of soul.
Those who haven’t seen The Supremes live will have the opportunity to revive their spirit, hits and much much more with The Pepper Pots, a trio of voices and a great band from Girona with 4 LP’s published and the just released EP Time and Place alongside Eli Paperboy Reed himself.
The Madrid group Sweet Vandals will delight hammond fans with Julian Maeso and Mayka’s elegant voice.Plenty of groove from Sweet Vandals that have left people happy everywhere they’ve been.
Lastly the missing element to an outstanding lineup: The Cherry Boppers, the band from Bilbao will present their second album Shakin’ The Hood with their emblematic jazz funk.
There is little more to add. Barcelona is the last stop in this traveling festival’s route, a festival that has delighted people from Madrid to Zaragoza stopping through Bilbao. We can’t wait for their Stax style and Motown Revue style to fill our ears and minds in what is sure to be a memorable night. Tickets can be bought here. Look around and compare, if you do manage to find anything better, dance to it!
