Holidays are like a kaleidoscope. While we enjoy some well-earned days of rest, we feel different. At least compared to the rest of the year. Reality distorts itself in a dreamy way and we are taken to a world of illusions.

During this season, we the working class (the one that has to keep a job not just for 2.0 exhibitionism) are filled with a a foolish sensation of freedom. We see everything from another point of view and our problems all but vanish once we see those sun rays hit the water.

Not everyone will be as lucky. A friend was telling me that all the summer destinations her daughter had in mind had become rather complicated, both Egypt and Turkey are examples of never-ending battles that are mixed up with religion as is very frequently the case. A red light that reminds us of how lucky we are to be able to enjoy this summer 2013 and remind us that we have to make the most of each and every day.

And that’s exactly what we’ve done. Work hard these last few days before the holidays to finish this summer edition of our magazine that may of you had been asking us for.

We start off number 9 with Exposed. A well-executed set of photos with many interpretations which is best savoured taking your time. It has been produced by Elena Claverol, who is part of an amazing team, among which we must mention Joe Buj, one of the newer arrivals.

Another new face in this issue is Claudio Parentela (I think he must play with his kaleidoscope all 365 days in a year). He sends us a colection of collages that we liked the very first moment we laid our eyes upon them.

We went for a coffee with Anastasia Kazenkova, editor of the Tvoi Gorod magazine, and we bring you three profiles that have got a lot to say in this city.

Even Superman needs his holidays. Maybe he’ll head off to Japan or spend a few days along Passieg de Gràcia, discovering its history and its hidden corners. Some say he’s been listening to our Spotify playlist on some of Barcelona’s Nurooftops, just so you know.

We have now conquered our second year of publishing this magazine. This issue has been come out a bit late, but good things come to those who wait.
